BOSTON – September 15, 2021 – ChaosSearch today announced that it has been named Most Likely to be the Next Boston Unicorn in Startup Boston’s first-ever Community Awards. The award celebrates companies that have made extraordinary achievements in the startup ecosystem in Boston, and represents grassroots recognition from tech entrepreneurs, employees, investors, journalists, and educators in the region.
ChaosSearch delivers the industry’s first cloud data platform built for analytics at scale. The company’s patented technology indexes data in place, without movement or transformation, and makes it available through open APIs and existing analytics tools. ChaosSearch uniquely activates data within a customer’s own cloud storage environment, making it fully and immediately searchable.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by the Boston tech community for our recent accomplishments and sustained growth over the past year,” said Ed Walsh, CEO, ChaosSearch. “Winning this award is a testament to the excitement brewing not only at ChaosSearch but also amongst our customers and the broader industry. We are committed to continuing on this path and look forward to the year ahead.”
Startup Boston’s Community Awards are a first-of-its-kind effort from Startup Boston, a community-driven and all-volunteer organization that is dedicated to connecting and lifting up Boston’s entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, students, and mentors. Award nominees are selected by the broader public and narrowed down by a panel of judges that represents the founder and investor community, journalists, and academia. The winner is selected in an open vote among the local startup community and will be named during Startup Boston Week, a free event that will bring people together for more than 200 speakers and 70 virtual sessions from September 20-24th.
“Our award winners truly represent the best and brightest of Greater Boston as determined by the professionals who live and work here,” said Stephanie Roulic, Founder & CEO, Startup Boston. “We wanted to create a process that allows everyone to have a say in who is standing out in the region. The winners and nominees are companies that are doing visibly great work, supporting their communities, innovating, giving back, and acting as a driving force for social good.”
Nominees are named in an open process and the top three are selected by a panel of qualified judges. This year’s judges include entrepreneur & investor David Chang, Boston Business Journal Technology Reporter Lucia Maffei, and Framingham State University’s Director of Entrepreneur and Innovation Center Mark Hardie.
“Boston has an incredible number of promising companies and founders, and all of the winners, finalists and nominees deserve recognition” said David Chang, entrepreneur/angel investor and Director of the Babson Summer Venture Program. “It shows that the people that make up Greater Boston’s startup community are plugged into what’s happening around them and are so supportive of each other's good work. I’m proud to be a part of such a vibrant and inclusive community, and to have played a role in this process.”
