The role

ChaosSearch is looking for a senior accountant to work with the Corporate Controller and drive the day-to-day finance operations. This role provides a great opportunity to work with a world-class management team and grow your finance career in an innovative, work-hard and have-fun culture.

The Senior Accountant will assist with maintaining the company’s accounting records including cash accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax filings and monthly account reconciliations. The position will also assist with payroll processing, benefit administration and other human resource support functions. Successful candidates in this role must enjoy wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced start-up environment, have both strong verbal and written communication skills and have a high attention to detail.


Success Factors:

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting for all operating transactions in the company’s accounting system.
  • Maintain accounts payable by preparing for payment, including keeping track of the corporate credit cards.
  • Obtain purchase approval authorizations in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist in creation of monthly customer invoices and recording of bank deposits.
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding balances.
  • Assist reporting users with their expenses as necessary.
  • Enter monthly journal entries in financial accounting system.
  • Assist in monthly reconciliations including bank statements, expense reports, credit cards and ledger accounts.
  • Review processes and make suggestions for cost reductions.
  • Maintain corporate records keeping files organized and accessible.
  • Assist in annual audit preparations.
  • Assist in financial reporting and analysis of company results and metrics.
  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in an accounting or finance program
  • Hands-on experience with brand name bookkeeping or accounting systems required; experience with QuickBooks,, a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrates the highest integrity, attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with cross functional groups
  • Experience working in a small company or start-up environment
  • Must be a self-starter with good written and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking capabilities
